He graduated from Boston University and Villanova University School of Law.
Bio
After law school, he was an Assistant Attorney General in the Enforcement Division of the Pennsylvania Securities Commission from March 1976 through June 1978. From July 1978 through January 1982, he was Senior Staff Attorney in the Enforcement Division of the Philadelphia office of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Since entering private practice in 1982, he has focused his practice on securities, antitrust and other types of complex business litigation. These have included Haas v. Louisiana & Southern Life Insurance Company, et al., C.A. No. 78-4234 (E.D. Pa.); Danton v. Cymaticolor Corporation, et al., C.A. No. 84-2866 (D. N.J.); Brown v. State Street Bank & Trust, C.A. No. 82-3949-Z (D. Mass.); McConnell v. Commonwealth of Pa., C.A. No. 2508-CD-1980 (Commonwealth Ct., Pa.); Markovitz v. Cavanaugh Communities Corp., C.A. No. 82-2016-Civ-ALH (S.D. Fla.); Carbone v. Gulf Oil Corporation, C.A. No. 85-0361 (E.D. Pa.); and In re SmithKline Beecham Securities Litigation, C.P. of Phila. Co., April Term, 1989, No. 2562.
He represented the firm on the steering committee of In re Catfish Antitrust Litigation, Master File No. 2:92 CV 075-D-O (D. Miss.) and In re Carbon Dioxide Antitrust Litigation, MDL 940 (M.D. Fla.). He played a substantial role in In re Residential Doors Antitrust Litigation, MDL 1039 (E.D. Pa.), for which the firm served as co-lead counsel and in In re Compact Disc Minimum Advertised Price Antitrust Litigation, MDL 1361 (D. Maine) for which the firm served as lead counsel for the private class plaintiffs.
He is a member of the bars of the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. From 2000-2006, he served as a hearing officer, appointed by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, for proceedings brought by the Court’s Disciplinary Board.
